The Come Up- Black Books

After being labeled one of the Top Ten Local Acts to Watch by the Austin Chronicle and getting the green light to perform at SXSW ’12, the band that has been playing together since they were little kids might finally get their chance to grow up.  Black Books, a five piece Austin folk/dreampop outfit, is probably best described as two parts Band of Horses and one parts My Morning Jacket. Blending lush instrumentals with soulful vocals, the band’s sound seems fitting for any summer stroll under a giant starlit sky. The band’s self titled full release is slated to drop on Valentine’s Day (for those not into the whole flowers/chocolate thing).
